The Free Consultation & Retainer Contract
During your phone or video Free Consultation, Marissa Keddis will discuss the facts and provide a general overview of your case. Consultations can last up to 15 minutes. If you choose to move forward, you will receive a Keddis Law Retainer Contract by email to virtually sign. When the contract is signed by both parties & the first retainer payment is received by Keddis Law, the attorney-client relationship is established. Cash payments may be received at the Linwood Professional Plaza office.
The Client Interview
If you retain Marissa Keddis, she will conduct a thorough interview to learn more about your case and any helpful facts about your life. Client interviews can be conducted by phone, video, or in person. Office meetings held in person are conveniently located at the Linwood Professional Plaza in Linwood, New Jersey.
Court Strategy
After receiving discovery, Marissa Keddis will share her strategy for an aggressive defense based on the unique facts of your case. While waiting to receive discovery, clients often have “homework” to do. Clients might have to secure work validation, character letters, doctors’ notes, or other documentation to demonstrate mitigating factors. Marissa works hard to put clients in the best position possible.
Motion Practice
When appropriate, Marissa Keddis will file motions to protect your rights and mount a dynamic defense. These may include motions to compel missing discovery, motions to dismiss, and motions to suppress evidence. This is included in your Retainer Fee.
Client Updates
At Keddis Law, you will receive clear updates and practical guidance throughout your matter. Marissa Keddis prides herself on client availability and is available “24/7” for all clients in the case of an emergency. She only takes on a small number of new clients per month to ensure client satisfaction.
Court Appearances
Marissa Keddis will attend all court appearances and keep you updated on any change of dates by the court. You will receive text reminders. By the time you attend court, you will feel confident and well prepared. She will guide you until your case is completely resolved.

I was arrested in a casino- am I going to jail?
With every casino case, the details matter. If retained, Marissa Keddis will conduct a thorough review of all discovery, including casino incident reports, video surveillance, bodycam footage, witness statements, and police reports. How much is this going to cost me?
During your Free Consultation, Marissa Keddis will discuss Retainer Fees and payment plans. In general, Retainer Fees for motor vehicle tickets start at $500. Retainer Fees for DUIs/DWIs start at $1,5000. Retainer Fees for municipal court offenses (harassment, simple assault, shoplifting, trespassing, etc.) start at $1,5000. Retainer Fees for felony charges depend on many factors and will be discussed during your Free Consultation. Your Retainer Contract will include the Retainer Fee and any payment plan options.
If you cannot afford a private attorney, you may qualify for a public defender, even in municipal court. Ask the court for a “5A Form” to fill out.
Can you get me a “zero point” ticket?
No attorney can ethically guarantee results. Marissa Keddis will fight hard to negotiate on your behalf. Your driving record, interactions with police, and other factors will affect your results. For speeding tickets, Marissa will ensure through discovery that all required records were properly maintained by the police. Hire a local attorney who has a reputation for honesty and results.
I just got my first DUI, do I need a lawyer?
Yes, a DUI is a serious matter in New Jersey and you should consult with an attorney. A DUI conviction in New Jersey can also affect your license in other states through the Interstate Driver License Compact (IDLC). Subsequent DUIs also have harsher penalties, including jail time. A DUI conviction can also affect your immigration status.
